Freebie Friday: Leonard Dstroy – Inner Exit

Every Friday I’ll let hit you off with a release that you can grab for nothing, or something if you feel charitable. Support the artists, people!

Another dope release from Kansas City’s Leonard Dstroy. Earlier this year, his superb Higher Vibrations LP was praised in RF’s 15 free albums you should know about feature for it’s balance and straight bangin’ drums. Yet again he blesses us with some mad viscous tracks that stay dense with both electronic sounds and organic samples. What I love about his sound is that no matter how much is going on inside the tracks, they always maintain balance and never get cluttered. Good for headphones, speakers or microphones. This cat deserves your attention.

Peep the bandcamp page and support the artist or grab it from mediafire.

Feature: 15 Free Albums You Should Know About

There’s a lot of sharing going on nowadays. Beat tapes and instrumental LPs are becoming exceedingly easy to find and often turn you on to people, labels and other things you never knew existed. These are 15 (16, actually) of my favorite digital releases that are either free or “name your price”. Shout outs to the people who work hard on their art and give it away. Please support them by buying a record, spreading the word or attending their show. Click the album art for download links.
