Black Milk and Danny Brown – Zap by BLACK MILK
(UPDATE: This, apparently, is not a Frank Zappa sample)
“Zap” is the Zappa sampling, Zappa referencing, altogether Zappa themed first leak from Black and Brown, the collaborative EP between underground monsters Danny Brown and Black Milk. Initially, the track could be mistaken for one of Danny Brown’s collaborations with Paul White, as a washed out sample gives way to Brown amorphously proclaiming he’s the “Rap Frank Zappa”. Black Milk let’s his presence be known around the 50 second mark when a monster four-to-the-floor drum invasion takes control of the beat for a fantastic and unexpected progression in what could have otherwise been a seemingly unfinished effort. November 1st can’t come soon enough.
